In the summer of 2025, we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Carl Milles’ birth with a grand exhibition, the largest of its kind in decades. Carl Milles: 150 Years presents around seventy sculptures, bronzes, and original plasters, several of which have never been shown before.
Visitors will encounter Milles both as an artist and as a person: a playful visionary with a twinkle in his eye, yet also a complex and contradictory figure whose life and work invite conversation and reflection.
The exhibition highlights the contrasts in his art, humor and gravity, imagination and spirituality, reality and dream, offering a rare opportunity to experience works from Millesgården’s archives and storage that are normally not accessible to the public.
